The ITT Barton Model 3500 automatic tank gauge system uses the company's proprietary DPE (dual-pressure electronic) transducer technology to achieve levels of accuracy and reliability said to be impossible with conventional hydrostatic technologies.
The no-moving-parts design of a single transducer results in level measurement accuracy within 0.05in and corrected volume accuracy to 0.05per cent.
According to ITT Barton, other hydrostatic systems use up to three separate transducers, multiplying small inaccuracies and making level accuracy no better than 1in.
