Emerson Electric, the US parent company of Fisher-Rosemount, has paid $265 million for Westinghouse Process Control Division. The new acquisition will help bolster the company's operations in the power generation and wastewater industries, says F-R.
Commercial power is the fastest-growing industry segment in the process automation business, comments Emerson Process Group head David Farr, and the Westinghouse acquisition will give F-Raccess to this valuable market. 'Westinghouse PCD has the application knowledge, the project execution capabilities, and the control system products including the new Ovation system to effectively serve the power industry,' he says.
