Hygienic pump cleans up
15 Jan 2000
Jabsco has introduced the Hy-Line series of hygienic rotary pumps that conform to all new hygiene regulations.
A range of six pumps with flow rates from 1-670l/m and pressure capability to 15bar, with flexible port sizes, make Hy-Line fit for all modern processes and plant layouts, claims Jabsco.
The pumps are typically used in the food industry, cosmetics, toiletries and pharmaceuticals.
Jabsco also claims its 55600 ultra-hygienic rotary lobe pump has offered significant savings as a primary feed pump for a shampoo filling machine line.
The system operates with flows to 670l/m at pressures of 3-4 bar at the pump.
The pump meets EHEDG standards on clean-in-place (CIP), sterilise-in-place (SIP) and bacteria tightness.
Money is saved at the plant because fewer raw materials are wasted and because less is paid to the water companies to clean factory waste.
Features contributing to its hygienic rating include: front-mounted crevice free shaft seals, self-draining rotor bores and gasket type joints which eliminate O-rings from fluid contact areas so there are no recesses to harbour bacteria. The range is also said to be exceptionally quiet.
