Who inspects the inspectors? SGS Group is on course
15 Jan 2000
Because of this, the company has launched accredited training courses for inspectors of mechanical plants. Two of these will be four-day courses, each of which will consist of eight general modules focusing on different types of machinery such as diesel engines, turbines and lifting equipment. Course delegates will also choose two specialist modules (covering subjects such as rotating machinery, power generating equipment, desalination, and chemical/process plant) and case study-based work. A concluding written exam will be recognised and accredited by the Institutions of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers.
Running alongside these courses is a series of one-day awareness courses, aimed at business managers, engineers and graduates who are considering a career in works inspection.
