British electricity market opens up

All 26million electricity users in the UK - industrial, commercial and domestic - now have a choice over which company supplies them, the regulatory body OFFER has announced. This makes the UK the first country in the world to open its electricity market to competition to such an extent, notes director general for gas and power supply Callum McCarthy.
