Eutech to expand BP's Topnir for process sector
15 Jan 2000
Cheshire-based Eutech is to handle BP Amoco's Topnir technology licensing business and expand its use into downstream processes.
Topnir near infrared spectroscopy technology has been developed by BP over the last 14 years and is used to improve performance in a wide range of refinery processes by providing data within minutes to advanced control or optimiser systems.
According to Eutech technology business manager John Wade, Eutech will be developing new applications for downstream processes as well as continuing the development and support of Topnir technology.
`Topnir will be core to our growing technology business and our first objective is to continue to supply excellent Topnir support to both current and future customers,' said Wade.
Topnir technology is based on near infra red spectroscopy and BP-developed topological modelling software, allowing treatment of extreme data points without the need for manual recalibration.
