Europe, Russia and the CIS, Africa and the Middle East are the source of 63 per cent of current global oil production and most of the world's fastest-growing oil and gas fields, says Honeywell. And why the company has opened an Oil &Gas Centre of Excellence in Bracknell, to offer technical support to customers in these regions.
Application consultants and project managers at the Centre will provide solutions to major oil and gas companies as well as contracting engineers at every stage of a project; from feasibility studies through engineering, to life-time system support.
For example, the integrated system for Texaco's Captain FPSO project was based on a Honeywell TotalPlant Solutions system. By contrast, Honeywell's solution for numerous gas platforms and pipelines was based on SCADA and SCAN 3000.
