More expansion for BASF
15 Jan 2000
BASF is to expand its alkylalkanolamines capacity at Ludwigshafen from 25 000t/a to 40 000t/a by early 1999. The company is employing an enhanced, `eco-friendly' process for the expansion, where many of the reaction by-products are returned to the synthesis section. The new process has two fewer distillation steps than its predecessor, resulting in energy savings.
