Computer model picks mixer

A new range of mixing systems from Robbin and Myers' Pfaudler-Balfour subsidiary has been launched world-wide. The company says the ProSol range allows new processing applications where a glass-lined solution may not previously have been considered. This includes gas dispersion, transition regime blending and high viscosity blending.
`ProSol combines advanced computer modelling techniques with new mixing technology to custom-design the optimum solution, whatever the complexity or degree of difficulty of the reactor processing requirement.' says Pfaudler-Balfour sales and marketing manager, John Watson.
Performance is maximised by selecting the most effective component or combination of components from Pfaudler's enhanced range, which includes a concave baffle and additions to the Cryo-Lock family of impellers. Among the new impellers are a gas dispersion turbine, high flow turbine and a helical ribbon. Advantages include reduced processing and mixing times, minimised costs, optimised product yield, quality and throughput.
