Another control alliance forged
15 Jan 2000
Following the industry trend of control majors forging alliances and entering into collaborative ventures, Cegelec and Fisher-Rosemount are to cooperate to enable F-R's intelligent instrumentation and Asset Management Solutions (AMS) technology to be integrated within Cegelec's Alspa 8000 control systems.
The two companies say that by bridging the gap between intelligent instrumentation and network-based control systems, they can offer more comprehensive and open solutions. Users will have a single window for monitoring instruments and evaluating plant performance.
The cooperation extends to two elements. First is an adapter module that interfaces Hart instruments to Cegelec's Alspa F8000 time-critical network. The second is a software set that allows the AMS technology to be integrated into the 8000's supervisory tools.
