Infrared for low temperatures
11 Apr 2001
More commonly associated with high temperature measurements, Land Infrared has increased the versatility of its System 4 on-line, non-contact systems with the introduction of the Fibroptic thermometer for low temperatures.
Designed for the range 50°C to 250°C, the M3 thermometer can measure targets as small as 5mm at a distance of 100mm. It has a response time of 100ms and is accurate to within ±3degC at 75°C under recommended conditions.
Land says the unit will be particularly useful for measuring temperature where access is restricted, or where ambient conditions require the sensor to be mounted away from the electronics. The M3 uses a light guide up to 3.5m long.
The unit is compatible with all the System 4 fibre optics thermometer accessories, including a cooling jacket for ambient temperatures above 50°C.
