AMEC explores partnerships
15 Jan 2000
AMEC is looking for strategic partners from its key suppliers and subcontractors across the whole construction group.
AMEC is approaching and identifying around 20 partners to assess their suitability as strategic partners. But interested companies must be able to demonstrate that they are continuously optimising performance.
AMEC will be identifying many of the construction and engineering industry's leading specialists and suppliers to develop ways of working with AMEC's key providers of critical goods and services to realise the advantages of long term partnership.
Executive director George Payne said: `We are launching this radical initiative to ensure that all areas of the group benefit from the efficiencies delivered by long-term strategic relationships within the supply chain. Continuous measurable improvement to maximise performance will be a key requirement. With our selected suppliers, we will develop more creative solutions and better, more profitable, ways of doing business.'
AMEC's top five guiding prerequisites for interested companies are safety and environment, customer satisfaction, equality in the partnership, desire for `win-win' solutions and top level support and commitment.
