Russell Finex system removes speeding fines
15 Jan 2000
Upgrading at Wellingborough-based Mining and Chemical Products, included installation of Europa 900 separators with a mesh deblinding system from Russell Finex.
The Vibrasonic separators were installed to meet demand for bismuth powder - a bi-product of copper and lead production. The separators remove fines down to 50 microns at speeds up to 70 kilos per hour. Speed is vital to avoid bismuth oxidisation with air.
By combining ultrasonics with conventional vibration, screening efficiency is improved by breaking down surface tension, removing the effects of friction.
