Steam safety valves tighten under pressure
15 Jan 2000
Anderson Greenwood/Crosby's Isoflex steam safety valves, featuring a patented FlexiDisc design, allow plant to operate closer to design pressures without leakage.
Said to offer superior seat tightness at 96+ per cent of set pressure, the valves' design uses the pressure in the process to increase seat tightness as the system pressure approaches the safety valve's set point.
The HE Isoflex is for drum service, while the HCI model is for reheaters and superheaters - both models are NB certified. The HCI model has the option of restricted lift, enabling boiler manufacturers to match the valves' capacity to the boiler and standardise on nozzle connections.
