Profibus card for actuators

Rotork Controls can now supply a Profibus fieldbus card for its IQ intelligent actuator range for multi-turn and quarter-turn valves, and the AQ range for quarter-turn valves.
Although the cards are designed for factory fitting within the actuators' double-sealed enclosures, they can be retrofitted on site.
Rotork uses the DP version of the Profibus protocol using a two-wire RS485 serial highway. All adjustments to the module setting can be made via the RS485 or, with the IQ range, using an infrared link available with the actuator setting tool or communicator.
Up to 32 actuators can be serially linked on each highway.
