A blanket of protection

An Allplas floating ball blanket from Capricorn Chemicals reduces the oxygen intake in boilers and tanks.
Corrosion is a serious problem when excessive oxygen is absorbed in boilers, tanks, pipework and hot wells during shut-down periods. The rate of oxygen absorption can be reduced when a constant water temperature is maintained by covering surfaces that are exposed to the atmosphere.
An Allplas floating ball blanket from Capricorn Chemicals reduces the oxygen intake. The polypropylene or polyethylene balls are poured over the surface of a liquid and then arrange themselves into a floating insulating blanket.
In boiler applications, the average dissolved oxygen content of the water has been reported to be reduced by as much as 90 per cent.
