Data sharing is key to success

The QMS Data Sharing Centre (enter 385 on enquiry card) at Eurochem 98 is a technology 'village' supported by leading IT and process operating companies. Taking part are Intergraph, Prism Technologies, Intelligent Computer Solutions, IBM/Dassault, Origin IT Systems, Quillion Systems, Shell International, and the Process Industries STEP consortium, PISTEP.
The theme of the centre focuses on the business benefits of sharing data using the latest data management philosophies and techniques, such as data modelling, STEP, and data warehouses. Highlighted will be implementations that have demonstrated proven savings. According to QMS, data sharing could contribute up to a 10 per cent cut in process plant lifecycle cost.
