LGC laboratory wins second approval to test water
15 Jan 2000
The UK's largest independent analytical laboratory LGC, has been granted approval as one of two UK centres designated by the Drinking Water Inspectorate to carry out vital regulation 25 testing on materials used in the drinking water treatment.
Regulation 25 controls processes, substances and products used in treatment and provision of public water supplies.
LGC will provide an analytical, research and consultancy service covering all aspects of regulation 25 testing and approval support, from guidance through the approvals procedure.
Nigel Cabeldu, manager of water services at LGC, said that one new area of application will be in securing CE marking on products coming into contact with drinking water. `LGC, as an independent test laboratory, can act as an important partner to European suppliers in getting appropriate approvals.'
