APV focus on pharma
15 Jan 2000
A process engineering group has been set up by Crawley-based APV to focus on projects in the pharmaceutical, personal care and cosmetic industries. The new Pharmaceutical & Healthcare division will provide turnkey solutions and specialist advice on engineering, validation and regulatory issues.
APV already has considerable experience in these areas. Turnkey systems have been supplied to companies such as Bayer, Johnson & Johnson, Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Sandoz, L'Oreal and Rhone-Poulenc Rorer. Norbert Rainer Schmidt, md of the new division, said: `Setting up the new group has let us pool our experience and focus on our target industries, which often have very different needs to other processing industries. As issues such as validation become more important, they also become more complex. We aim to make life easier for manufacturers when building a new plant.'
The new group is to work closely with the recently acquired company Steridose, designer and manufacturer of aseptic equipment for liquid processes.
