Industry awards recognise leaders in their fields

`The award is acknowledgement of innovation and excellence and, as such, underlines our position as a leader in thermal technology.' So said Nish Patel, managing director of Alfa Laval Thermal, after his company picked up the prize for Process Equipment Product of the Year at last year's Manufacturing Industry Achievement Awards.
Organised by PE's parent company Miller Freeman, the MIAAs have, in their four-year history, become recognised as among the premier awards for the UK manufacturing sector. This is reflected in the support and sponsorship granted to them by the prestigious companies and organisations shown here.
Award categories also reflect the interests of the 12 Miller Freeman engineering titles behind the event. In addition to the processrelated magazines such as PE, What's new in Process & Control, and Control & Instrumentation, support for other sectors is being given by the likes of The Engineer, Design Engineering and Metalworking Production.
In PE's field the main categories are for innovation in the chemical industry, food and drink manufacturing, and for the best of process and control equipment products.
The MIAAs are to be presented at a gala dinner in London on 16 September - an event which last year attracted over 800 industry guests keen to show their appreciation and recognition of their colleagues' efforts.
