Batch package aimed at bringing automation benefits to beginners
15 Jan 2000
Later in the year Sequencia is to launch its Procedure Manager software package aimed at those process manufacturers who only have manual or partially automated processes, but who want to start benefiting from automation.
According to Sequencia, Procedure Manager will bring all of the advantages of batch automation, including recipe management, batch tracking and operator logging, by combining the recipe execution features of Sequencia's OpenBatch package with the customer's standard operating procedure documentation to provide interactive, web-based documents to replace paper documentation. The software is designed to help manufacturers manage their smaller batches using web technologies.
Says Dennis Brandl, Sequencia's director of enterprise initiative: `our customers wanted the benefits of batch automation without the heavy cost associated with automating the physical equipment.'
Available in the third quarter of the year, the software operates on standard NT-compatible PCs. It is also scaleable from small site to enterprise wide applications.
