Electronic `nose' analyses gases
15 Jan 2000
Neotronics Scientific's eNOSE 5000 laboratory gas analysis system is based on a modular design which provides application flexibility, the company claims.
Both a manual injection and auto sampling are available for this modular. If a higher sample throughput is required, a headspace autosampler can be added.
The eNOSE 5000 accommodates up to four different sensor modules. Moreover, plug-in modules allow new sensors such as conducting polymers, thin or thick film metal oxides, resonant type sensors to be incorporated.
One novel feature of the system is humidity control, based on differential temperature modulation which generates RH more accurately than other methods, Neotronics Scientific claims.
As far as processing the data is concerned, the latest eNOSE's calibration algorithm allows for sensor aging over time, thus increasing sensor life and enhancing sensor-to-sensor reproducibility.
