Czech mate for Air Products
15 Jan 2000
Air Products has entered into a partnership agreement with Unipetrol, the Czech Republic's state owned refining and petrochemicals operator. The agreement may act as a springboard for future collaboration in the region, according to Air Products.
The companies have a history of collaboration, with previous projects including an air separation plant for Chemopetrol Litvinov (completed in 1996, and at the time the largest air separation plant built in Eastern Europe); and a nitrogen generator for the petrochemicals complex at Kaucuk Kralupy.
According to Unipetrol chairman Josef Koubek, the move marks the beginning of an expansion programme for the organisation. `Our partnership with Air Products is an important factor in this growth,' he comments. `We intend to exploit this opportunity to share resources and experience with a view to strengthening both our companies' positions in our target markets.'
