Ciba Specialties has rejigged the management of its water treatment division, now bolstered by the recently-acquired Allied Colloids business. David Farrar is to be president of the division, with John Harnett in charge of finance and business services. Tony Bell will oversee research and new business development, and Alan Whitehead will be responsible for technical operations, including engineering and production.
Onyx chief elected at ESA
The Environmental Services Association has elected Edouard Dupont-Madinier as vice-chairman; he is chief executive of the Onyx Environmental Group.

Ronald Baars is to be director of purchasing for Akzo Nobel. He will be responsible for coordinating purchasing of information technology, technical materials and services.
