Michael Wills, minister for small firms, trade and industry is reassuring SMEs that UK oil companies, offshore gas producers and coal distributors are on track to provide supplies over the 2000 new year period. (see p.43) Assessments made by WS Atkins and Aon Risk Services for the DTI found that between half and two-thirds of the oil and gas industry were risk free with the remainder on course to attain this status by the summer.
