AEA signs £20m deal with BNFL
15 Jan 2000
British Nuclear Fuels has signed a five-year agreement to give it access to AEA Technology's specialist facilities for handling radioactive materials, based at Windscale, Cumbria, near the Sellafield nuclear reprocessing plant. The facilities will be used to separate nuclear material into high, intermediate and low-level radioactive wastes, which AEA will then compact. This, according to BNFL, will reduce the cost of disposing of the waste.
