Butterfly resists corrosion

Huktra, a leading tank container operator, is using Neotechna corrosion resistant flouropolymer lined butterfly valves. Neotechna claims the valves combine excellent corrosion resistance with bi-directional bubble-tight shut-off, eliminating the risk of fluids leaking to the environment.
The primary sealing is an interference fit between the PFA encapsulated disc and the high density PTFE valve liner, and further enhanced by a resilient elastomer backing pad with a mechanical stem seal loaded by Belleville disc springs to give a final fit of the primary seal. Secondary sealing is with a radial lip seal while a Viton O ring provides the final line of defence.
