Developments improve yield and productivity in gas-liquid applications
15 Jan 2000
A demonstration of the use of new hydrofoil impeller configurations to give yield increases of up to 40 per cent in gas liquid applications, will be given by Lightnin Mixers on stand 2548 (enter 315 on enquiry card).
Recent installations by the company have demonstrated increased mass transfer, improved blending and heat transfer and decreased blend times, while results show decreased reaction times, improved nutrient utilisation, improved product uniformity and purity and decreased mechanical vibration.
According to Lightnin, the new configuration enhances the natural flow of the gases system and eliminates flooding. Furthermore, improved dispersion and coalescence reduction provides a more uniform environment for reaction and mass transfer. Reductions in average shear rates also have major benefits for all shear-sensitive applications.
In addition to demonstrations of the new technology, Lightnin is also demonstrating a comprehensive range of mixing research equipment offering both open and closed tank options and programmable designs.
