Separator for the masses
15 Jan 2000
The PX100 centrifugal separator from Alfa Laval can process over 1000 tonnes per day of vegetable oil, making it the largest ever offered to the fats and oils industry. Targeted at the really large and demanding producers, the separator is said to offer new standards of performance and economy.
The latest addition to Alfa Laval's range of self-discharging separators, the PX100 features the Centrizoom adjustable paring device at its outlet. This removes liquid from the outlet chamber without any energy-draining friction. Feedstock is fed into the machine from the bottom through a hollow spindle, ensuring smooth acceleration into the bowl without any particle break-up.
Centrizoom also allows fine-tuning of the separation to suit the particular feedstock.
