Davy down but not out

From the beginning of this month, the Kv+rner Davy group of companies is operating under the single brand name of Kv+rner Metals. Under the name change, the businesses historically known as Clecim and Davy - and as Kv+rner Clecim/Davy following their acquisition by Kv+rner - become Kv+rner Metals.
The move marks another withdrawal of the historic Davy name from the process marketplace, following the takeover of the process division by another Kv+rner group company, John Brown, a few years ago.
Kvaerner group president and chief executive Erik Tonseth said: `Ever since its acquisition the Davy group was seen by Kvaerner as a core business. The subsequent financial improvements and successful reorganisation confirm that position and highlight the potential for synergy'.
Davy lives on, however, in the trade name form of The Davy Roll Company, which continues as part of Kvaerner Metals.
