TPS ProfitMax from Honeywell is an equation-based optimisation system that can be added to the company's TotalPlant Solution control system.
An optional module of Honeywell's robust multivariable predictive control technology for advanced process control, ProfitMax can help refineries, petrochemical and other process plants to increase the financial return from plants in which the underlying process is significantly non-linear or is subject to frequent change.
The system combines Dot Products' Nova optimisation and modelling technology with the graphics environment of Honeywell's Optimizer package.
'Nova is the leading non-linear optimiser currently available,' says Honeywell Hi-Spec Solutions' Andrew Ogden-Swift. 'It elegantly handles many of the problems encountered in solving large sets of non-linear equations.'
