Connecting ASi (actuator sensor interface) systems to other industrial communications networks is easy and cheap with the new range of controllers and gateways available from IFM Electronic.
Controllers are currently available in Profibus DP and Device-Net versions, while there are gateways for the Modbus Plus, Mitsubishi A1S and other protocols.
The controllers include an ASi master, an interface for the chosen comms system, and a full-featured programmable controller. Virtually self-contained, they provide a comprehensive range of logic and other functions, including PID control and analogue conversions.
The gateways are dedicated protocol converters without control facilities, providing a simple and reliable way of integrating ASi with higher-level systems.
