Take cover: former astronaut Helen Sharman (left) helps BBC producer Ruth Prince celebrate winning a £10000 science communication award from the Chemical Industry Association. Prince researched and scripted the Radio 2 programme 'Under the Kitchen Sink', presented by Sharman, which explained the science behind household products. An award for corporate contribution went to Thomas Swan of Swan & Co, which sponsors visiting teachers who support science education in local schools
