AEA buys in fatigue software

To complement its process engineering and computational fluid dynamics businesses, AEA Technology is to acquire nCode International, one of the market leaders in fatigue and lifetime prediction software. AEA is to pay £6.9 million cash for the Sheffield-based company, with a further £400 000 performance payment. According to AEA's ceo Peter Watson, 'demand for nCode's software has been growing rapidly, predominantly in the automotive industry.'
