Promoting the use of chlorine

The Chemical Industry Association is claiming victory in its campaign to persuade the British public to like chlorine. Its two-poster 'pilot' campaign in London Underground stations, promoted the use of chlorine in blood bags (shown here) and in compact discs. According to market research commissioned by the CIA, 40 per cent of people in central London recall seeing the adverts, and 39 per cent of these agreed that the benefits of chlorine outweighed the environmental risks it poses
