Universal transmitter for temperature
15 Jan 2000
Smart enough to cope with outputs from any commonly used temperature sensor, slide-wire transducer or millivolt source, the SEM210 from Status Instruments features, as standard, a galvanic isolation barrier between input and output to eliminate any possibility of introducing error-creating ground loops into the system.
Although its output is a 4-20mA signal, the SEM 210 uses digital technology in the form of two integral chips positioned either side of the 500Vac rated isolation barrier. These ensure error-free data transmission across the barrier and make it possible to accommodate a wide variety of transducers. Sensor type, range and operating span are easily programmed into the transmitter.
