15 Jan 2000
Montell, the polyolefins joint venture between Shell and Montedison, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Taiwan Polypropylene to develop, make and market polyolefin-based advanced materials in China. The venture would make materials such as Catalloy, Montell's polyproplylene-based engineering copolymers. The companies are already `pre-marketing' imported materials, and pare awaiting authorisations to begin building a 6000t/a plant in Hong Kong.
