Turbidity meters for Three Valleys
15 Jan 2000
Three Valleys is the main supplier of water in north-west London. The company turned to Pollution and Process Monitoring (PPM) to provide essential water monitoring equipment for the Watford works, as part of a programme to upgrade and improve its process treatment and control systems.
Turbidity is often used to determine water quality in processes which require monitoring at several stages. Raw, filtered, total filtered and final treated water can all possess different physical characteristics, but one instrument can be installed for all applications.
The HF Scientific incorporates many additional features, including visual trend graphic representation of results and liquid EPA-approved secondary standards. Nine HF Scientific turbidity monitors have been placed at the raw water intakes, with 12 further units monitoring the water at each of the filter outlets, and, as a final precaution, another two units are used to monitor the filtered water.
