Dust free sacks boost safety
15 Jan 2000
A dust-free sack emptying and spiral conveying system from Flexicon has been designed to allow safe transfer and dispensing of powders where a high standard of hygiene is important.
The system's design ensures that dust containment complies with current environmental regulations through the deployment of a dust extraction system directly above the feed hopper. To eliminate the manual disposal of dust-laden empty bags, an integral empty bag compactor is fitted as standard.
When material has been emptied into the surge hopper, each empty bag is received into a compactor station. Here, the bags are mechanically compressed and batched by a rotating auger, which ejects them into a polythene tube for hygienic removal and disposal.
