Software system is virtually a PLC
15 Jan 2000
Designed to work with Wizcon, the Scada system from PC Soft, WizPLC is a PC-based soft logic package that is said to replace the hardware-based logic of a PLC. IEC 1131-compliant, it supports all five of the approved PLC programming languages and can be used anywhere a PLC can operate.
WizPLC runs under Windows NT and, even after installation, the flexibility of the software enables on-line changes to the logic to be made without stopping the control programs.
It uses 32-bit DLL-based I/O drivers including Profibus DP, DeviceNet, Lonworks, CAN and Interbus-S. Because the system is IEC 1131-based, application code can be reused for developing applications on different fieldbuses.
