Valves meet TA-Luft standards
15 Jan 2000
Available as an option on its established range of Series 2000 globe valves, Honeywell's new control valves meet the stringent regulations for environmental emissions control laid down by the German testing authority TaV.
The new design features two independent stem-packing systems of PTFE-impregnated graphite rings, held under a constant spring pressure for optimum tightness. Conforming to the TA-Luft standard, leakage from the valves has been confirmed by TaV as being equivalent to the small amount of diffusion through a bellows seal and similar to that through static gaskets.
Already being supplied to the Metals Alkyls project of Akzo Nobel Chemicals at Rotterdam, the valves are available in sizes from 1/2 to 6in and pressure ratings to 40bar. Body materials are cast iron, carbon steel, low temperature carbon steel, stainless steel, low temperature stainless steel and high temperature CrMo steel, depending on application.
