The investors, who together own about 1 per cent of Shell, include individual shareholders, pension funds, religious institutions and academic investment organisations. They are concerned that Shell's image has been damaged by the Brent Spar furore, and by allegations of pollution and in turning a blind eye to the persecution of the Ogoni people in the Niger Delta.
