ICI paints expansion

Continuing its policy of expanding its paints division, ICI has bought almost all the assets of St Clair Paint and Wallpaper Corp, based in Toronto. The company sells decorative paints through a network of 350 dealers, including company-owned, franchise and independent operations. ICI Paints (Canada) currently generates some C$150million/a in turnover, says the company; the acquisition - whose cost was not disclosed - will enhance the sales by some 75 per cent.
