Steamy butterflies resist dirt
15 Jan 2000
Spirax Sarco has extended its high specification butterfly isolation valve range with the launch of the BS7 version for steam applications.
Available with manual or pneumatic actuation in DN40 to DN250 sizes, the BS7 incorporates several design features to minimise maintenance. For example, the valve has a smooth flow path without internal cavities where scale or dirt could accumulate. And stainless steel metal-to-metal seating ensures a long, trouble-free life, says Spirax.
The valves are suitable for operating temperatures up to 250 degreesC and pressures up to 20barg. The valve body is from SG (spheroidal graphite) iron, and weighs around a third less than an equivalent model globe valve.
