Pfeiffer pumps surge ahead
15 Jan 2000
Designed for pumping explosive gases and gas mixtures, the new WKP 6000 Roots pump from Pfeiffer Vacuum is available in both standard and surge protected (up to 16 bar) models and has a pumping speed of approximately 6000 m3/h. Applications include large coating plants in the R&D, chemical, petrochemical industries, electronic, food and pharmaceutical industries, where user safety and environmental cleanliness are mandatory.
Special features of the WKP 6000 A/AD include its high level of operating safety and low servicing requirements. The rotors are hollowed, plugged and have an optimised profile resulting in low noise levels and efficient pumping. It operates without water cooling, reducing utility costs. The pump design has only a few components, so assembly and service times are shorter. Further advantages are the comparatively low weight and the extensive range of accessories.
The surge protected AD model, designed for pumping explosive gases and gas mixtures, is made of GGG 40.3 modular graphite cast iron, is pressure surge protected up to 16 bar and complies with stringent VBG 16 accident prevention regulations for compressors.
