Advanced control for Foxboro

Siebe, the UK parent of control major Foxboro, has acquired the Northwich-based advanced control company Predictive Control (PCL).
PCL's main product is the Connoisseur advanced control software, based on powerful modelling and optimisation techniques. Fully scaleable for use in large and small applications in continuous process plants such as refineries and petrochem plants, Connoisseur has also found applications in batch processing. Current users include British Steel, BASF and Unilever.
Foxboro says it intends to incorporate the Connoisseur software `seamlessly' into its own extensive suite of scaleable I/A Series systems for process control.
