Drugs bring jobs to Northeast

The UK subsidiary of the American drugs giant Merck is to invest £8.5million in expanding its manufacturing site in Cramlington, Northumberland. New equipment at the site will manufacture two new drugs, an asthma treatment, Singulair, and a migraine remedy, Maxalt, leading to the creation of 66 new, permanent jobs.
