UNEP faces crisis in Nairobi

The United Nations Environment Programme is close to collapse after a governing council session was suspended by its president. Representatives of the `G77' group of developing countries objected to moves to change the way UNEP was run. The UK, USand Spain have decided to withhold their contributions to UNEP until the organisation has resolved its internal wrangles.
