Open channel measurements

Moore Products has available a smart transmitter that combines level measurement with 3/2= and 5/2= calculations to produce a 4-20mA output of volumetric flow in the V and U notch open channels commonly used in water and waste applications.
Like all of Moore's XTC transmitters, the open channel flow instrument also incorporates a PID control function with auto/manual facilities.
The new instrument can also output the level measurement via the 4-20mA signal, or perform the more usual 2= calculation for flow in closed systems. XTC communicates using the Hart protocol for re-ranging, configuration and calibration.
Other features include a rotatable on-board LCD digitial display and dual totalisers for flow with a 2x109 capacity. Start, stop and reset are all Hart-controlled.
