Swiss belt weigher looks to UK
15 Jan 2000
FMS Force Measuring Systems (FMS) of Oberglatt, Switzerland, was established in spring 1993 through an MBO of the former Force Measuring Engineering Department of FAG Switzerland. FMS designs belt weighers (right) for numerous applications and the company is seeking distributors and business in the UK.
Product manager Roger Hausy says: 'Our guiding principle is to achieve top-rate performance with a committed staff.'
In a Swiss composting plant, an example of an FMS belt weigher installation, it is important to maintain a continuous flow of material.
The belt weighing system with a troughed roller and a BMGZ410.C controller electronic unit perform the complete control function. A feedback signal is compared with a reference value. An integrated proportional-integral controller adjusts the output signal to achieve the correct flowrate. The output signal drives a motor driver to regulate the speed of the discharging belt of the hopper.
